Our Story
Helping People Understand Money on Their Own Terms
Tara Finance was founded on the belief that financial clarity is something every person deserves — and that the second half of life is an especially good time to find it.
Back to HomeWho We Are
A Small Office with a Long View
Tara Finance opened its doors in Bangkok in 2016, in a modest room on Sukhumvit Road. The founding idea was simple: financial education in Thailand too often speaks to younger professionals or high-net-worth investors. The people who had spent decades working, raising families, and quietly wondering about their future were largely overlooked.
Our founder, Khun Wattana Phitthayaphan, had spent nearly two decades in Bangkok's banking sector and had seen this gap up close. She believed that a calm, seasonal approach — much like the farmer's almanac that organises a whole year into manageable parts — could make financial thinking more accessible for people who were ready to plan carefully but did not know where to begin.
Since then, Tara Finance has worked with more than five hundred learners across Bangkok. We have kept our groups small, our materials practical, and our tone warm. Nothing we teach is rushed, and nothing is presented as a formula for quick results.
Our Mission
Education That Fits the Pace of Real Life
We exist to give people in their forties and beyond the knowledge and confidence to make considered decisions about their own finances — at a pace they are comfortable with, and without any pressure to act before they are ready.
Clarity Over Complexity
We explain ideas in plain language, checking at each step that what we have said has landed clearly before moving on.
Trust as the Foundation
We do not sell financial products. Our only interest is that you leave each session with a clearer picture of your situation.
Respect for Each Person's Pace
There is no single correct speed for understanding money. We follow the learner, not the other way around.
The People Here
A Team That Has Walked the Same Path
Everyone at Tara Finance came to financial education through a genuine interest in helping others navigate the same questions they once had themselves.

How We Work
Our Standards and Approach
Every aspect of how Tara Finance operates reflects a deliberate choice to put learners at ease and to handle their time and trust with care.
Education-Only Policy
We are educators, not advisors. We hold no financial licences and make no recommendations about specific products or institutions. That independence protects you.
Data Privacy
Your personal details are used only to communicate with you about your course. We do not share or sell learner data. Our policy is available on this site.
Small Group Limit
We cap each group at twelve participants. This is not a marketing claim — it is a firm operational limit that we do not exceed, even when demand is higher.
Reviewed Materials
All printed guides and worksheets are reviewed each year against current Thai banking regulations and updated where needed before each new cohort begins.
No Sales Environment
There are no upsells inside our sessions. Learners are never encouraged to purchase additional products or services beyond what they enrolled for.
Annual Course Review
We revise course content at least once per year, drawing on feedback from previous cohorts and changes in the Thai financial landscape.
Financial Education for Midlife in Bangkok
Bangkok offers no shortage of financial seminars aimed at younger investors or high-income professionals. Tara Finance occupies a quieter and more specific place: structured, thoughtful learning for people who are at or approaching the midpoint of their working lives and want to understand their options clearly before making longer-term decisions.
Our courses draw on an understanding of the Thai deposit and pension landscape, including the specifics of the Government Pension Fund, Provident Fund structures, and everyday savings habits that are realistic within a Bangkok cost of living. We contextualise all of this against the broader life questions that many people in their forties and fifties are navigating — supporting ageing parents, thinking about retirement timelines, or simply wanting to feel more settled about the years ahead.
We do not assume any prior knowledge. Every programme begins from a place of genuine curiosity and moves forward only as fast as the group is comfortable. For many learners, simply having a trusted space to ask basic questions is the most valuable part of the experience.
